Creative Curriculum & the Reggio Emilia Philosophy
Our curriculum is a combination of the Creative Curriculum and The Reggio Emilia Philosophy of Education that builds upon the children's needs and interests. Children's learning is based on their interests as well as those of the teachers, while always remaining in the spirit of the child.
Knowledge is "pulled out of children" and built upon. It is an age-appropriate focus based on the individual needs of children and involves the use of listening, observing, and documenting in order to organize learning experiences for children based on both children's and teachers' learning interests and investments.
Topics for study are captured from the conversations of children. Teachers work together to formulate hypotheses about the possible directions of a project, the materials required, and possible parent and/or community support and involvement.
The adaptability of our curriculum allows us to accommodate children's ever-changing needs. Children are taught based on their current pace and potential, and each developmental stage of our curriculum blends perfectly into the next.
Our curriculum is continually updated and enhanced based on current educational methods. That is how families know that their children are getting an exceptional education, regardless of age.
One of the primary innovations of the Reggio Approach, the Atelier is the school studio, laboratory, and observatory where children can appreciate and learn about nature. It is equipped with clay, wire, paint, pens, paper, beads, shells, and a variety of recycled and natural materials used in short- and long-term projects.
Our eco-friendly playground brings the Reggio philosophy outdoors and teaches children the importance of sustainability as well as the benefits of organic gardening. Children learn the basics of organic gardening, the patience of the growing process, and the benefits of growing healthy and nutritious fruit and vegetables.
At Kiddieland ECE, we understand the importance of providing children with healthy choices and good nutrition. All our hot meals and snacks are freshly prepared daily in our fully equipped kitchen.
